A dense albino hybrid with impressive wavy caps
Albino Monkey Mak is a modern Psilocybe cubensis hybrid created by The Fungus Frequency from a cross between Albino Penis Envy, commonly known as APE, and Melmak TP. It combines two closely related but visually distinctive genetic lines, resulting in an unusual albino variety with a particularly solid and substantial appearance.
The mushrooms are known for producing very dense fruiting bodies, thick stems and large caps that may develop pronounced wavy edges as they mature. Their colouring usually ranges from pale cream to almost white, while blue tones may become visible when the tissue is bruised. This combination of compact structure, light pigmentation and irregular cap development gives Albino Monkey Mak a recognisable appearance that clearly separates it from classic cubensis varieties.
Key characteristics
- APE × Melmak TP hybrid
- Original genetics by The Fungus Frequency
- Dense and substantial fruiting bodies
- Thick, compact stems
- Large caps with wavy edges
- Pale albino appearance
Effects and intensity
Due to its APE and Melmak genetic background, Albino Monkey Mak is generally associated with a powerful and immersive psychedelic profile. Reported experiences may include intensified colours, moving patterns, altered depth perception and a noticeable distortion of time.
The visual component can be accompanied by waves of euphoria, creative thought and deep introspection. As the intensity increases, the experience may become mentally demanding and considerably more immersive. For this reason, Albino Monkey Mak is primarily aimed at experienced psychonauts and enthusiasts searching for an unusual albino hybrid with a strong character.
Its rare lineage, dense morphology and spectacular wavy caps make the Albino Monkey Mak mushroom grow kit an attractive option for collectors of modern Psilocybe cubensis genetics.
What’s Inside Your 2-Litre Mushroom Grow Kit?
This closed grow bag contains 2 litres of prepared growing medium, with everything required to support healthy mycelium development:
- Sterilised nutrient substrate: provides a clean and nutrient-rich growing medium.
- Prepared grain: supports fast and even colonisation throughout the bag.
- Breathable filter: enables controlled gas exchange while helping to protect the culture from contamination.
- Active inoculum: promotes efficient mycelium growth and reduces preparation time.
Quick Instructions
-
Position the grow bag
Remove the bag from the box, gently stretch it into shape and place it upright in a clean indoor location. Keep it away from direct sunlight and strong draughts. -
Allow the substrate to colonise
Keep the bag closed while the white mycelium spreads through the substrate. Avoid moving or disturbing it unnecessarily. -
Wait for the first pins
Once colonisation is complete, small pins should begin to form naturally inside the bag. No additional action is required at this stage. -
Harvest the mushrooms
When the caps are fully formed but have not yet opened completely, wash and dry your hands, open the bag carefully and remove each mushroom with a gentle twisting movement. -
Prepare for another flush
After harvesting all mature mushrooms, lightly mist the substrate with bottled water approximately 8–10 times. Close the bag and return it to the same location.
Recommended Growing Conditions
- Temperature: maintain a stable range of 22–24°C.
- Light: place the bag in ambient or indirect light.
- Sun exposure: keep it away from direct sunlight.
- Location: choose a clean indoor area protected from strong airflow.
- Handling: avoid moving the bag repeatedly during development.
- Humidity: keep the bag closed so its internal environment remains humid.
- Filter: do not puncture, remove or cover the breathable filter.
Development and Harvest
White mycelium may begin spreading through the substrate within approximately 5–10 days. The bag may appear fully colonised after around 10–15 days.
Once the substrate is evenly colonised, small pins should form and gradually develop into mature mushrooms. The first harvest may be ready approximately 15–20 days after starting.
Harvest when the caps are well formed but before they open completely. After rehydrating and closing the bag, another flush may appear within approximately 7–14 days. Development time and final yield may vary according to the culture and surrounding conditions.
Important Notes
- Do not open the grow bag before the mushrooms are ready to harvest.
- Do not damage or manipulate the breathable filter.
- Maintain a stable temperature throughout the growing cycle.
- Keep the bag away from direct sunlight and strong draughts.
- Always wash and dry your hands before opening the bag.
- Uniform white growth generally indicates healthy mycelium.
- Green or black patches, unusual discolouration or an unpleasant smell may indicate contamination.
- Do not consume mushrooms showing signs of contamination or uncertain identification.
- Growth speed, appearance and yield may vary between cultures.
- Please inform yourself about the legal regulations in your country before starting the kit. The kit produces psilocybin-containing mushrooms, the cultivation or possession of which may be subject to local laws.
