Big Bud strain

The first Big Bud Strain was a vigorous Afghanica mixed with Skunk genes - a hybrid of exceptional vigor and absolutely unusual, record-breaking yields. Big Bud came to market as a clone and very quickly became a popular candidate among commercial cannabis strains. When these original clones came to Holland, several stable seed lines were made from them, including a backcross with Skunk #1, as well as an extremely popular hybrid of 75% BB - 25% NL#1. 

 

Today's award-winning incarnation of Big Bud was only made possible by two important developments. First, Sensi Seeds has done intensive research to find out the genotype and exact geographical origin of the Afghani progenitor behind the original Big Bud. Secondly, the expansion of the gene bank in the nineties has helped Sensi Seeds breeders to a top specimen of this very strain. These two developments allowed Big Bud to be traced all the way back to its roots. 

 

The eventual backcrossed hybrid also brings back the vigor of the original clone, but enjoys the benefit of sweet fruit flavor, as well as noticeably improved potency. Of course, the central feature of the Big Bud seed line remains its high productivity. Plants that require the entire flowering season grow slightly stronger, and these specimens usually produce the largest yields. Big Bud's branches are thick and strong, but the sheer mass of huge, sweet and sparkling Bud flowers that are produced can become heavy enough to bend, or even break. That's why it's definitely recommended to secure the most promising branches with string or wire.
